Golf Digest's Ron Whitten calls the Club at Longleaf "...the most playable course in Pinehurst".

18-hole Dan Maples Championship Golfcourse

Longleaf is a Semi-private, versatile course whose designer, Dan Maples, preserved its equestrian tradition by incorporating its rail post and hedge rows into the course design.

As a tribute to its colorful history, Dan Maples incorporated some of the features and flavor of the old facility into the golf course, including part of the fence and training track. The front nine at Longleaf was designed in the Scottish open style with subtly rolling fairways. The back nine, in contrast, is heavily tree-lined with dramatic elevation changes.
  • Opened in 1988
  • Hosted the 1991 North Carolina Open
  • USGA Rules govern all play. Horse track fence and yardage markers are immovable obstructions. White stakes with red tips and double - rail white fences mark out-of-bounds.
